E85 - America's Flex-FuelE85: Your alternative fuel choice.
E85 is a blend of 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline, classified as an alternative fuel by the U.S. Department of Energy and developed for use in flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs). This high octane, high performance fuel is clean and environmentally friendly - reducing harmful hydrocarbon and greenhouse gas emissions. And, because ethanol is a renewable source of energy, it reduces America's dependence on foreign crude oil and gasoline imports.E85 is available at over 1,200 E85 pumps across the country. Buying and operating a flex-fuel vehicle (FFV).Many dealerships stock or can order models with the flex-fuel option. Currently, there are more than 6 million FFVs on America's roads, and the number of E85-compatible makes and models is increasing steadily. Major automakers including DaimlerChrysler, Ford, General Motors, Mazda, Mercury, Isuzu, Mercedes and Nissan have all produced flex-fuel vehicles. A flex-fuel vehicle can operate on any blend of ethanol up to 85%, so if E85 is not available, the vehicle can operate on unleaded gasoline or any ethanol blend.
